Blueberries & Lemons

Whether it's a scone at Starbucks or Something Natural's sparkling water, nothing encompasses a New England summer quite like blueberries and lemons. They also happen to be my favourite fruits! Following my recent post on appetizing apparel, I carried on with the theme of edibles. This time around, I was inspired by the colours of these delicious fruits to put together this little number.

I went to meet up with a good friend and classmate of mine at Yale today. He's currently in the summer program at Oxbridge and they took a day trip to tour the beautiful Yale campus. We planned to rendezvous at the Urban Outfitters downtown, which was perfect because he was late and I needed some retail therapy. Walking in the sun, I was incredibly thankful that I chose to wear a dress today.

The weather is getting a lot warmer here in Connecticut (it's even comparable to Asia!) so a dress is a must to keep cool. I find that skater skirts and dresses are the most flattering for my shape. It also helps that I love the cut. This cute polka dotted dress from Sans Souci Clothing channels the 50's era, giving the classic a fresh twist with the bright mustard yellow.

I did not use this jacket one bit today. It was scorching outside! I thrifted this baby back in Singapore at a flea market for only... wait for it... one dollar! It isn't as thick as regular denim jackets, but it's a perk when you're living in a hot environment 24/7. I also DIY-ed the studs onto the panels from an old belt I had lying around.

More whole cut loafers! I actually bought these a few weeks ago from DSW. Tasseled and suede-like, these Nine Wests are extremely comfortable for every day wear. The only issue I'm starting to see is that they are slowly widening. For someone with tiny feet, I'm praying that this isn't the case!
